A friend just dug up about 50 or 60 years of rock from his grand parents' old rock shop. Not sure how long they have been closed but these rocks go way back. I am trying to help him with IDs for some of the rock. He eventually wants to sell the rock. I will get better photos tomorrow when the sun comes up. This is the first stone that I cut and just took a quick shot after I had washed them. Looks like a jasper/agate This second rock is incredible. There is jasper??? and for sure some clear agate around one edge. This was a super surprise when I pulled out the first slab. Coolest slab that I have had in my hand. It will probably need stabilizing but should be well worth it. first side dry wet second side dry wet I have no idea where this came from or even if it has a name. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Jim

Thanks Joanne. I work with only local stuff so when something outside my circle of rock comes along I am pretty amazed. Jim

Very pretty material, Jim. Not sure, but the first couple of slabs look kinda like Lysite Agate?

I was going to say Lysite too. my only piece does not look like that, but I have seen others that do.

I had not thought of lysite. I have another piece of lysite that does not look anything like these but I have seen lysite that would match pretty close. Apparently the lysite can vary a lot.
Thanks for the help. Jim

hahahaha frog. We must have been posting at the same time and I did not see yours. I did not see the, lets say quarter back behind center, to keep the wild comments down. Jim

now that I commented on it, do you see it in the center of the last slab?

Plain as day. That is why I shifted the train of thought to quarterbacks and centers. lol They really do not look like they are playing in a jumping sort of way. LMAO Jim
