That Gold Rush program on discovery is superb. I wish I could do something like that. I dont suppose anyone knows anyone who wants a greenhorn gold miner to help them out for a season?

Gold fever is huge here in Wickenburg. There are several businesses that take you out and teach you how to look for gold. They sell the equipment as well. Guess we have a lot of gold up around here cause there sure are a ton of people finding it! There are several old Gold Mines around here but you can't go in those, just the surrounding areas and hills.

Gold around here also but we are so isolated that not many people want to come here and prospect. Not too many people would last over a day though when they find out how back breaking it is. Not to mention the isolation and cold nights up in the mountains. Can't drive motor homes up there where the gold is. lol A few old timers still go up every summer and take out some gold but following them to there location will probably get you shot or at least shot at. Jim Jim you are so right. People think its fun until they shovel a few yards and end up with 1 or 2 grams of gold. And then there is the bears to deal with to. As for the hoffmans, there idiots!!! There is talk around the gold forums that they are funded by the greens. Some of the stuff they pulled is mind blowing. They turned the rules in Alaska upside down. Caused alot of undo hassle for other miners that do things right. In the Yukon the other miners bought up all the claims around them so they would not have to put up with them. Personally they know nothing about gold. They did no research at all. The object is to get to bedrock and clean it. As that is where most of the gold is. They were lucky to run into another miner, or they would have left the bedrock and moved on. If you go back to season 1 2nd show. They should have been charged with poaching. If you look close the bear they shot was a black bear. The one that came into camp was a griz. The best and most realistic gold shows are Bering Sea gold and Goldfathers. I could go on and on about the hoffmans mistakes. BTW they are not poor. The hoffmans own an airport and are also slumlords. These are free sites. pick play now beside play on putlocker.com, wait 5 seconds and click skip ad,click close and continue as a free user, kill popup, click start video now, kill popup. enjoy the shows. They show them pointing a gun and then when its go time right when they pull the trigger they show a different camera angle of a bear. Probably shooting at a stump and then add a shot of a bear running off. Its pretty easy to figure out. They never actually showed the dead bear and the next shot they are all at a camp fire eating the bear that same night saying how good bear taste. Come on. They just hyped it up. I know theres bears there. They know theres bears there so they added that into their story.

Love the show. Also like Bering Sea Gold on Discovery. Gold Rush provides a great opportunity to see the beauty of the area, and a great education about gold mining. Todd is a big weenie head wussy boy. Though I must say, it is entertaining to watch the soap opera in the Hoffman camp. I like the Schnabels. Parker is a hoot, and his grandad is a very cool dude.

+2 for liking the Schnabel family best, my kids love watching him drive all those big dump trucks and endloaders while still in high school.
