So......my wife came down to my basement work shop a couple weeks ago. I was telling her that I had some pretty tiny rocks which was a shame as i generally don't polish anything under 3/16 of an inch. "I could use some small stones for some projects I have in mind.",she said. Additionally I read somewhere on the net that anything under 1/4 of an inch can't be polished. I got a lot of bad info off the net until I found this place. So......I could't resist doing a "tiny treasures" batch. Thanks for looking. Ken The whole batch Just because I like 'em The tiniest of the treasures A local (illinois) rock. I call it pet. wood because the patterns and color remind me of wood. It may be something else though. If not feel free to correct me. Crazy Lace I like the silver in this one so I included a close up Last but not least the tiniest of the treasures

When folks look through my polished rock pile, a lot of times they pull out the tiny ones and spend a lot more time looking at them that many of the larger ones.
Nice batch thanks for sharing.

Most of the chert i find is glacial . i find a good bit of the crinoidal , quite a variance . i have some of the white just like Yours . Alot of loose fossils , from weathered to quartz agate replaced. there is though some formations of native fossils and a silurian limestone quarry just two miles from my home with fossils , geodes, pyrite . The glacial rocks are dug and piled with the soil overburden by the pits . so i got those to look through too . im like a kid in a candy store when i go there . it is tumble heaven , though i usually get more involed in the bigger stuff .
