as I have gotten older, I've wondered why I don't find mushrooms like I use to --- well, yesterday morning I learned why -----------------I got up, went to get a cup of coffee and looked out the kitchen window, -- there were three foxes, a mom and 2 kits ( almost grown) sitting by my lp tank . The 2 young ones were jumping and playing, the mom just sitting there on alert, --the two were pouncing on something , then jumping back ----------- was really something to see --just how much fun they were having !! This went on for 5-10 minutes and finally the mom came over to where they were playing and laid down and rolled on her back ( trying to get the scent rubbed in ) , then one yip and they were gone --mom one way and the little ones back to the den --- I finished my coffee which was getting cold and decided to go out and see what it was that they were so interested in -- maybe a mouse, squirrel, chipmunk, or some scrap leather -----none of those fit the bill !!! --- it was a patch of mushrooms -- they had pounced on , bit the tops off ,chewed up , and mom had rolled in !!@#$%@!!!!!!--------- and that's where they go !!!! no wonder I can never find them anymore I took some pics of the mess and if I can get them loaded I'll post them later ( didn't get the foxes, just the mushrooms) SO, IF THIS WAS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST OF WONDERS , NOW YOU KNOW TOO!!!!!!
