Another great batch! I really like Bahia's so those might be my favorites. That fourth picture is great too though. That last photo looks metallic?

That's a reflection off the stone, the pictures are not behind it. Thanks for the nice comments everyone.

Nice! I like the one with all the sagenite. The silvery finished stuff is probably hematite which is not uncommon in agate or jasper.....Mel

Hey Mel, I know almost nothing about the names of rocks, so I'm not sure which rocks you're talking about. I looked up the term "sagenite" and I think you might be talking about picture number four. When you say "silvery finished stuff" I'm not really sure which one you mean? The only one that looks at all metallic is the third, white one.

Agree with the others -#4. It looks like a view of mountains/ hills as seen through tall grass. Great tumbles and great photo. Both can be hard to do. Getting both perfect as you did is very difficult. Bill

The sagenites is #4 picture. What looks like small explosions bursting out in a fan pattern is the sagenites. And I believe that Mel meant the white rock above it with the sivery dendrites when referring to hematite. The one below the sagenites I`d say is probably onyx. The moss looking rocks are what I think is palm root. But I`m just a guy with a rock habit. I`m not a pro at this so I could always be wrong. The last one looks like a green agate I got with gold colored veins running through it. It tended to crumble in a tumbler and on wheels in places and never would shine up enough to show well.

All great stuff, good job! The last picture -- it's fractured of course, but I think what you refer to as the finish is in fact hematite in the rock. Hematite does look metallic, and the finish of jasper or agate with hematite in it does come out looking like that. Hold it in the light just right and you'll see those veins have a metallic shine. Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota have tons of glacial outwash (river rocks, stuff in gravel pits) with hematite in it.
I should add: Hematite is softer than agate, so the metallic shine doesn't always come out like a brightly shined metal, sometimes it's a duller metallic shine. That's how I would describe what I see in your last rock.

Daniel and jspencer, thanks for the help with identification. I always though onyx was just black. I did some looking and found that there are lots of colors. My rock does look similar. I love learning new stuff here.
