I believe that's the name for this stuff.. a fossilized clam stone. This is from a chunk I found at the local rock shop last weekend. Also ran into Rockin' Heart maker Sgt Edmo while I was there too.. small world aint it? ;D Pretty sure this is from Texas as Mel has posted some finds very similar to this Thanks for looking!

Really colorful. I think they have very similar stuff to the Texas material out of Mexico and they often heat treat it to bring out those reddish tones. The trade name for the Mexican material is "Clam Chowder Stone"....Mel

Appropriate name for sure.That material was common in a wash north of Lake Falcon.In big cobbles.
