Greeting Rock People A penny heart I was fascinated with the deep blue in it This heart is made from Serepe (sp?) jasper I cut the slab so that the 2 halves would be a good representative of the whole slab Thanks for looking and keep on grinding Ed

Ed, I'm glad I managed to reresh your memory. Dunno much about Llanite, except it's from Texas (I think) and I made a yin/yang having one half made of Llanite. It's a friendly rock, isn't it?

Beautiful hearts as always Ed.
I knew little about Llanite, I was curious, so I looked it up. Here's what I found on wikipedia:
"Llanite is a hypabyssally intruded rhyolite with phenocrysts of microcline and euhedral quartz. The quartz crystals are blue hexagonal bipyramids. The unusual blue coloration of the quartz is thought to be due to ilmenite inclusions.[1] It is named after Llano County, Texas, the only place where it is found (according to locals; however, geologists have identified other locations where this rock may be found, according to Robert Reed.[2]) A dike of llanite outcrops on Texas State Highway 16 about 9 miles north of the town of Llano."
Always a plasure to see your Rock'n Hearts Ed! Nate

Thanks Tammy-Your doing great with your new cabber! Jason --Really really appreciate the fine comment! Hey Diane ! gr-ha ha --I been wondering when we’d get a chance to discuss this rock’n heart process? Got to be hands on! I wanna open this factory ! Hub!- Thanks!! Spelling Bee was never my strong hand. I’m rock grinder after all Ha Ha T- The wheels are turning, rocks are hard & hearts further complicate issue. Cupid’s dilemma! Right on Adrian! If you had a picture like to see. But know how busy ya be. Yo Nate! I do believe I found some llanite in rock pile in Phoenix. But who knows where the rock originated from? It is some cool crystal blue persuasion. Pat-- as always Ed

Hi Cathy!
The Surepe jasp polishes really good. good solid jasp micro fine material I wish I had bought more-but I forgot to go back I got it at the Flagg Show in Phoenix and the slab was like 2 bucks
The Flagg show is also where I got the llanite. The vendor had a bucket with 4 slabs for 10 bucks Just small pieces --great material for hearts. Wish I'd gotten more--I'm such a cheapy-- out of necessity tho ...mostly Hi ~Krystee <inserts big wave smilie> long time Trying to tune up these hearts They're getting better --but I'm getting slower not sure why? beside the regular problems Ha Ha
Thanks!
Ed
