I really appreciate the support of members on this forum. I have been here for a long time, or so it seems. Yes, my shop got burgled. It was a student I had taken time to begin to show the "secrets" of jeweling. She is a yuppie, well to do, and just cleaned my clock. It threw my wife and my spirit into a deep depression. She also took only consigned jewelery, and my handmade gems, several stones Sandsman gave to me. It was the unneccessary waste of the entire issue that has me the most thrown. We query, why not take the gold? Why not take the good gems? It was beyond description. My wife and I are at this moment crushed. I have been surfing the board as I love what it stands for and does for people. I have really been unable to sign in. In time, I will be better. My wife and I are taking this time to rebuild our marriage, shop goals, and future direction. Floriduh, although hot and tepid, and full of rednecks pickup, trucks, and pitbulls, is an haven for beginning jewelers who do things a little different. I say that for folks wanting to turn their hobby into a career. It is simple, find a flea market, set up, and show up everyday. Word gets out, people come. At any rate, my wife and I are looking to expand. We want to have seasons. I am going to go to advanced jewelery school. We will be looking to relocate if we can find the right place. We are sad, but that is not the reason. We have outgrown the market here and we have not had any free time for over a year. We will be wanting to go somewhere and just go slow. Thanks to all. I will be back, but, right now, I need rest. Doc

Peace be with you Doc, I know you are a giving soul, don't let a two-faced person put that down. She will get hers in the end from a Karma stand point.
Keep on keepin' on bro!

Good to hear from you, Doc. Just take it easy for awhile, and get it back together. I can imagine what a negative jolt that was. It is especially hard when it is not just some anonymous thug, but someone whom you took in and trusted. At least she left you something. I hope it does not result in permanent optical rectitus for you. Believe that what occured is not a normal outcome to be expected. Most people are far better than that.
Good luck and may you have a speedy recovery from this unpleasantness. Perhaps a seasonal tour in Alaska is what you need. The gift shops do a land office business for about four months each year. How does Homer sound? BIG tourist destination and they buy local stuff by the ton.

I am sorry to hear about everything you have been through and can only imagine the feelings you and your family might be going through. I hope that the old saying of "Every dark cloud has a silver lining" comes true for you. I look forward to seeing and hearing from you on the boards. Best regards..... Andy

Doc...I know that you've be here on earth long enough to know that what goes around comes around and that you and your wife are going to be okay. Rest up. Get your life in gear and know that we're all here for you when you want to talk or if you need anything. Really. Anything. Seems I've been here for ever too and dang, guy, I miss your nuttiness.
