I'm hoping they will be easy to spot anyway ... I picked up both of these at a garage sale over the weekend and the guy didn't know exactly what they were. First this one - the guy thought it was a type of picture jasper but it seems too hard - it looks feels and cuts a lot like agate. Very solid with no structural weaknesses or fractures. This one hopefully will stick out like a sore thumb...or a bunch of sore thumbs. My first thought was something I saw here on the board that someone called "devils fingernails" or something like that - but that one was based in red and this piece has no hint of colors at all other than what you see.

First is Polka Dot agate from Oregon Second is probably some kind of rhyolite, it looks siimilar to birds eye rhyolite but the color is off. Someone else will probably know just what it is.

I'm thinking the second could be one of the types of Stromatolite. The white patterns have sort of an organic look to them.
