Yeah, just a temper-tantrum. White House tours ARE under purview of the White House, and it is asinine for them to say that they have to cut the $11,000 a week it costs the Secret Service to do the tours . . . even with the most liberal accounting, the cost comes in at no more than $18,000/week.

Looks like I mis-spoke on the estimated cost of the tours. Upon more looking into it, depending on where one gets the numbers it could be anywhere from $18,000-$74,000 a week. Still. . . what is that equal to . . ., danish pastries for a GSA conference?

White House tours are under the control of the Secret Service, not the President. Yesh. The Secret Service can FORBID The President to go somewhere... and guess what? He can't go.
Once again, Obama gets blamed for something he has NO control over.

Well there was a stupid move on Obama's part. He SHOULD have made the Sequester the complete loss of Health Insurance for all Elected Officials, a cut of 50% in their staffing, and the suspension of all gov't paid travel til the budgets are agreed on.
THAT would have fixed everything. Course, would have meant he got slapped too, but that's what 'buck stops here' means. There was an example of selfish prig you can point at Obama for. Very disappointing.

I agree. To his credit, he announced that he is going to return 5% of his salary to the Treasury, to show solidarity with those hurt by this.

Don't care, he passed up a brilliant opportunity to slap Congress into doing the JOBS they are paid by us all to DO.

No Government funded travel ? Does that mean Obama and his family would have to pay for flying on Airforce One for their many vacations ? Hah ! Fat chance of that ever happening. King Obama would write in an exemption for himself and his family.

Oh please. Your money helps pay for Aetna's CEO to make 72 MILLION dollars a year, and he's more than a king on the Corporate Jet that he goes everywhere with, on YOUR insurance money.
Don't give me that the Prez of the USA who just happens to make $750K deserves LESS perks than a damned corporate thug, that dictates which Americans who pay his wages deserves to live or die depending on what he thinks their coverage should be. WHILE making $72 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR.
Nevertheless, to blackmail Congress into passing a BUDGET, he shoulda slapped them AND himself anyway. But even better, he should have found a way to fine the Aetna CEO 71.3 million dollars a year, or 900% of his income, so he makes the pittance that the President of the USA makes.
And we all happily pay those monsters, and whine about our Gov't.

I would put it another way, I am defending my Commander in Chief. It's respect, not fear.

You are defending he who would claim himself to be king of this country. He's nothing but a Socialist bastard wanna be dictator.

If he were King, Messiah, or Dictator, he'd have the man who put his face on a clown's shot, or slowly strangled with piano wire.
Amazingly, Obama's face has been put on some of the most hilariously insulting things I've ever seen. Now tell me if you can name one example of a DICTATOR who allowed that while he was in power?
Gee, Obama's a King. One that can't get Congress to pass a budget. A KING would say, THIS is the budget, no one cares what you think. Doesn't work that way does it?
