One stone I've seen beaders use is called lotus jasper. It makes really pretty beads. I have yet to see any rough called by that name. Is it possible that beaders call it one thing and lapidaries call it something else?
I wish I could find a clear close up pic of some. It's kind of green and cream with an occasional bit of lavender in it. Nice color combination. Wish I could find some of that to tumble.

might be what we refer to as ocean poppy jasper ( certain ones anyway) -- my wife has a bracelet that is those colors and that is what it is made of

None of the pics are detailed enough to show the lavender. If you look really closely at the one from Beadstyle you can see just a hint of it.
In person it looks even better but all I've found are 4mm beads. That's no good for my needs.
