OK you all can tell I love making up rock names by now ... this is my latest and the only cab I got done this weekend. Between buying a new truck and building shelves in my garage to house my growing rock obsession I didn't have much time for grinding. Anyway, I barely shaved the outter crust off of the end-cap of a Montana nodule and let all the natural inclusions show - If I had ground it any deeper the rock would have become clear and would have lost it's personality. The result is actually more beautiful than the picture can show - it takes on a 3D effect that I didn't anticipate when I started into it. Enjoy!

Absolutely stunning. Can you belief that there are lots of people who discard heels? ( Have gotten sooo many as extras with shipments) They have absolutely no idea what they are missing out.

Thanks everyone :-) it was a fun project - I had to be VERY careful not to grind too deep because I didn't want to lose anything.
Kurt - yes my thoughts exactly! I was in a rock shop yesterday sifting through a very picked-over bin of montana nodules and I bought a few that look like they are going to have great heels ... I think the shop owner thought I was a moron for buying basically clear rocks but we shall see how they turn out before I decide if he was right or not heehee.
