So, I got a lortone 33B for Christmas and I have been using it on and off. But, I seem to have a big problem. It can only spin with one barrel on. With two barrels on, sometimes it will tumble a little bit and then seize up and some times it will not tumble at all. I keep taking some rocks out of the barrels and oiling it using 3 in 1 oil. What else can/should I be doing or should I just be looking into using the warranty.
Thanks for everyone's help.

I would try tightening the belt first.Sounds like that could be the problem.

be careful oiling it too. sometimes over oiling gets oil on the belt and then it will slip under a heavy load.

Thanks, I will try tightening it now. Is it normal to have to tighten the belt so soon?

I would expect to tighten those belts sooner than that. They are a very small diameter and stretch out pretty easy. Next time your ordering grit you should order a few spare belts too.

I tightened the belt up and the tumbler seems to be running full steam again. Thanks for the info. I feel a lot better knowing that I wasnt the only reason my tumbling has been so unsuccessful. Although, technically, it is my fault that the belt wasnt tightened so...

It's actually not even a belt, it's an "O" ring. That's why it stretches, it isn't made to resist stretching like a real belt would be. Be aware, if you tighten the "belt" too much it will also stop turning when you put the barrels on. Usually not a problem, but it can be frustrating when you're learning how to get it just tight enough.

I was always told to get it just tight enough to turn the barrels and not to overtighten or it will burn up motor bearings from excess tension.
