GREAT! Never seen that in pet Palm, only on a live palm tree. Do you have a picture of the rough - did it show the same? Thanks for posting.

Bill I'm not sure how rare it is, though it seems to be rather uncommon. Here's another example of roots and fiber in the same slab Jim, a biology and geology lesson wrapped up in one Thanks Daniel and John! Mark here's a not-so-great pic of the rough these slabs came from. Fiber to the left and roots to the right

What a busy hot week it's been. Hit 112 a couple days ago, but it's cooled down to a comfortable 105 Turned the end piece of this rough and figured I'd post the final few cuts. Here's the roots looking kinda mishmashed and the transition area showing the vascular bundles of the fiber as 'lines' rather than 'dots' Thanks to all who have checked this out
