Hello RTH! Sorry I haven't been around much of late! When I'm not working the job right now, I'm getting ready for the shows. This weekend is the last batch of cabs. From there onward it's wrapping and intarsias till I'm done. Got quite a few done and will be finishing up, hopefully this morning on the rest. These were done Saturday.... Before I post though, please stop by the Killer Cab Contest and vote! There were some really incredible entries this month and it's really worth seeing them!!! First, a Noreena from Randy. I'm really enjoying this material!!!! No clue what this is... Got it from Clint at Stoneviews a while ago. The only part of it that really shined was the dark vein but I really like the design so went with it. Any help with ID is appreciated. Lizardite from Gary, gr. This is my first working with this stone. Fun to work but frothy on the coarse grinds. Reminds me of soapstone. Laguna Agate. Had some pitting issues and there's a hairline fracture in the middle of the stone that I didn't see till the end. Probably won't sell it because of that. Last piece of Native Utah Copper from my good friend and Co Author of the book, Sierra Madre West, Steve Holmes. AZ Red Jasper from Gary. Gem Owyhee from Roy... REALLY fun to work!!! Some Pet Wood I think again from Clint. The spots in this are organic to the piece. Not pitting but looks like something in the wood. Another piece of Pet wood from Clint. And an Amy Sage...
Another Noreena from Randy... And yet ANOTHER Noreena from Randy.... Seriously love this stuff!!! And last but not least, another Gem Owyhee from Roy!!!

Love those hearts. Noreena really suits that shape wonderfully. Got a lot of eyecandy here but I really like the hearts.

Great cabs all. Hope your show goes well for you.
Meanwhile I have a question. Can someone tell me what "Gem Owyhee" is and how it differs from other Owyhee jasper types?

Hi all
New to the forum...That second one looks like China Hollow Biggs. From the same area as Biggs Jasper but much of it won't take a glassy polish. Has great patterns, though...
Love all your cabs from both posts. The Noreenas are killer! And that glassy Petrified wood!!!

They are all beautiful Kathy but the first heart and the red jasper are my two favorites.
