This the stuff you were talking about James ? Beats hell out of that hot water bottle hanging from a hook near the toilet with the rubber hose and plastic thingie attached to it. (Yes, mom used that on me when I was a kid too). Beets and asparagus. Yuck !! Folks used to grow both and forced me to eat it. Hate the sight of it now. Hey Ed, chicken hearts are OK, but chicken livers are to die for. Jean, beef liver still shows up in our local store from time to time. Guess it's a country folks thing. Yes Don, or very similar. but you mentioned the most feared treatment.. NO !! NOT THE BAG !! RUN LIKE HELL !! Grandmom (Mema) used to torture(w/a sick grin) me with this thing Don. The tighter I squeezed the more it hurt(@ insertion). Along with an assortment of torture tips

Call me crazy... I really like prune juice and I love calf liver done right with bacon and onions. MMM MMM Good! When I was a kid, Dad refused to eat liver, so Mom would fix him a steak when we got liver. I never even felt cheated and I love me some red meat. I will get help for you(the prune juice fetish).

Castor oil mohs ? Lubricant per excellence. Mom used to buy this label, and 4 ounce cans with same yellow and brown label. Prefer even prune juice over castor, she had to catch me when the castor oil got whipped out. I prefer to just eat the prunes, myself. Same brand, even, although it's sold by Costco, so has Kirkland name on it, too. Now they call them "dried plums" so as to remove any connection with prunes (and the reason a person would be eating them, lol). I can't wait to run to the grocery store dearest Jean-NOT

The smell of my grandparents house when they were making sausages, or baking pastries. (They were Czech immigrants). They always made a special batch of sausages for me that were kid size. About 2" long.

… and the wet puppy smell. The smell told me that the puppy had been having a wonderful time. Little kids smell a lot like that, too. Both huggable, smell and all.

Memories. When we'd take the grand parents for a ride in the country, as we'd pass a field of cattle my grandfather would role down the window, stick his head out and take a deep breath. In his broken English he would exclaim, "Oh cheezus dat smells goot".

Oh yes I remember creepy crawler smell. just in case you want to sniff that again, check out the "new car smell" in a can from the automotive section of your favorite box store, I think you'll locate the source of that aroma.
Somehow I let this thread go to the back burner, lol.
Snowmom, I think you are right! I checked for "new car smell" in a can when I was at the store on Monday, but they didn't carry that kind of stuff. Will have to go to an auto parts store or something. Thanks for that, I'd have never guessed. Creepy Crawlers, that's something from way out of the past, haven't thought of them in years.
Let me add a couple more I thought of... Night blooming jasmine Popcorn being popped Homemade fudge (my in-laws were big on fudge!)
Too bad so many wonderful smells equate with a food!

Hmmm. Non-food smells...
Sierra Nevada pines. As a teen, I worked at a mountain camp for several wonderful fun summers.
Clean sheets hung out to dry.
New patent leather shoes. I put them by my pillow.
