There's still hope.

If everyone had a heart like that, this would be a better world. Hate seems to rule so many people's hearts these days... it's sad.

Opportunities like that are rare. I would hope most of us would do similar. Kudos to that fine young man. He will make a terrific father some day. ======similar story============ Wifey n I have a 'game' we play, we take turns finding suitable 'prey'. If I/we/she happen to be in a drive thru at a restaurant; occasionally we will buy the food for car behind us. It started with me and a very frazzled mother of three boys. She was exasperated and the boys being boys were "boy-sterous" and bouncing all over the suburban. She alternated between trying to calm them down and sitting  in exasperation. I told the girl at the window, that I was buying that woman's food. $26 for the four, plus mine. As I was getting my food, in my rearview mirror I could see the teller informing her the meal was already paid for. She went thru a few emotions starting with "huh?" then a bit angry "what?" the realization set in. Somebody just wanted to bring a smile to her face. It worked. Wifey beat me recently with a grandparent-ly husband and wife. They were yelling at each other. Fighting like cats and dogs. Wifey decides to treat. Her rearview mirror show was "surprise" - "smiles" and ended with grandma wiping tears from her eyes. Perhaps I can challenge my friends here. Next time you have a few extra bux and are in line somewhere, buy someone their meal. The view in the mirror is priceless. Toad, thanks for the OP, awesome dude!
