Green dino bone! Love it! Was the rutilated quartz fun to cab? I have one of those coming up soon in the rotation.

Bluesky, the quartz is fun. I picked up several small rocks at my local rock shop, four about the size of a quarter and one a bit larger. All of them were pretty rough and hard to tell what was in them. It was a lot of fun grinding them down and watching the rutile needles come to light. This last one I figured out what works best for me when shaping this material. The stone started off twice as thick as it is now. I shaped both sides before I started taking off all the thickness. It allowed me to get it thinner & more translucent than my earlier tries. Normally I thin out the stones evenly then shape them. I am still learning Of course I may not be the best person to ask if it is fun lol. I think all of them are fun Cabbing for me is like slowly unwrapping that mystery Christmas present from your favorite person. You're not sure what is inside the wrapping but you know it's going to be great!

You're not sure what is inside the wrapping but you know it's going to be great! Exactly. Regardless how long something is going to take, there is always the anticipation. Once done, things are quite quickly forgotten as soon as the next piece comes along. I too, I adore your second Dino. Colors, shape, workmanship and all,..... just fantabolous!

super rare colors in that 2nd dino bone. I like how the cells have more than one color in each cell. Pretty cool.

and also on that dino bone the deep black around the cells is where its at. Another hard thing to find in dino bone. That black brings out the colors even more than if it was the typical brown around cells.
