Hello, me and my girlfriend bought a new house and in the process of raking up rocks in the yard we started finding strange looking rocks and some small fossils that look like coral I can't upload pictures to here on my iPhone so I can email them or something. I'm just curious as to what I am finding. I have a 4 pound rock the closest match I can find is jaspilite but there is a gold color on the side thank you Walt!!!

You should include a photo of the rock when wet. This will reveal the true colour and display a lot more detail of the structure, etc. You should also include an approximate location.
Based on the photo here, I think you have a granitic rock. This is a slow cooling volcanic rock where crystals have an opportunity to develop. Granite is basically made up of feldspar, quartz, and a darker ferro-magnesium rock. If I am not completely off-base, the red/pink would be orthoclase feldspar, the white/clear would be quartz, and the black would be hornblende or biotite.
Technically, when the individual crystals get large enough (as you have here) the rock would be called a pegmatite, so you probably have a granitic pegmatite. Pegmatites are highly valued for rock/mineral collectors, as they often have valued crystals associated with them.
Darryl.

Is the pink feldspar? Looks like it could cut some nice cabs.

Like Darryl said, looks like a granitic rock. The gold stuff is probably mica/muscovite. The pink feldspar, the white quartz, and the black is hornblende - those are the components of granite.

Reminds me of the rock that comes off Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota. George
