Now that I look closely. I see that it looks similar, but not quite. Unless the cacti grew REALLY fast.

The spot I shared is just fine. I could never pick all of the rock there in my lifetime.
I am surprised that Sheri didn't give you the coordinates.

She and I were going to go out there before the field trip to check the areas out but plans changed and I didn't ask her for the coordinates before the trip.

I'm going to post my pics of the Brenda trip here on Diane's Brenda thread. Hope you don't mind, Diane. This trip was supposed to be led by Diane, but... If she offers for you to lead, take her up on it, lol! She really does have a terrible sense of direction (but I love you anyway, Diane!).
Some random saguaro cactus. Not the ones Jim was napping against, there were a few others out there.
Diane's new (to her) 4WD Ford truck. It was an off-road virgin. Ya did good, Diane! (We never even put our truck in 4WD, didn't need it.) Four Fords and one Chevy on this trip.
That reflection is my truck parked next door. Pretty dirty, but those wheels still sparkle!
Yikes, Arizona pinstripes! As mentioned before, Diane did not hesitate to take this puppy off road and let the road-encroaching customize the paint job. She didn't care, said it looks more like a truck now. I like your style, Diane. Yeah, I know, it was go, or get left behind, lol.
Dirty truck. This was clean just a week ago!
And here's the gang! Left to right - Jim @wampidy , Diane drocknut and Gypsy, Robin the truckdriver (she was a lot of fun!), Irving and Anita (friends of mine from home), Roger (thought it was @wrenchman - a Ford mechanic for over 30 years - but can't find it?) from Arkansas (down in front), Bob and Lucy, Cindy and Russ nowyo .
Same cast of characters (and I DO mean characters!), but with me between Anita and Lucy on tailgate.
Anita hunting for rocks.
Jim holding onto his pretty truck so it wouldn't roll away. That's Russ and Cindy's Chevy behind Jim's truck.
Rockin' Robin and Russ heading up the hill.
Diane and Anita. Picking up rocks is good exercise, what with bending, lifting, carrying and all.
Bob, Irving and Cindy comparing rocks.
Jim holding down the ground.
Jim working on a carving.
Enjoying the company, fresh air and sunshine.
Rock hound Lucy doing what she does best - taking a dirt nap. She did good, only pulled just a couple of cactus spines out of her.
Diane's (or was it Jim's?) find of the trip.
My find of the trip - a cool fish fossil in a jasper. I did not break this open, just happened to pick it up and see the fossil. One chance in a million to have found it. Then I set it down momentarily, and lost it (all those rocks look the same). Fortunately, found it a second time.
This was just a quicky photo snapped out there, I'll try to get a better one and post it.
That's my Brenda photos. Still have some photos from Desert Garden, Planet Mine field trip, a few prospecting pics. Working on them now.
I'll get the Planet Mine trip photos up, as soon as Tonyterner starts a thread for it.
EDIT to add -
Just for you fossilman - new photo of fish fossil, head is to left side of photo. Will probably not attempt to do anything to this, would most likely mess it up!

Great pictures Jean, and I don't mind the hijack of the thread. Yep, my virgin truck is not longer a virgin but does look more like a rockhounder's truck. It got a bath yesterday and looks much better now. The find, it is mine, mine I tell ya! Notice who is holding it...yep...me! LOL That was a cool fossil in the rock that you picked up.

It isn't her sense of direction, it is the fact that she is just plain magical. She and I went out into the area by Brenda and we headed east. When we came out, we were coming from the west, on the other side of the road. Either that or she had ether, a rag, and a really weird sense of humor.

I'll go ahead and add a few more pics from the Brenda trip on Diane's thread. The convoy heading in. A couple of scenery shots. Our intrepid RTH rockhounds stealing road gravel. It was somewhere along here that Diane threw a flying cross-body block on Jim and grabbed that rock. Since my foot found the second piece, I guess I have dibs on it, eh? Great bunch of folks, had a really good time, saw some neat country and found some cool rocks.

It was exactly there that the rock was found!
We also enjoyed meeting new people, such as you and Cindy, and had a really great time.
To those of you that missed out, it's never to early to start planning on going next year...

When we came out, we were coming from the west, on the other side of the road. Either that or she had ether, a rag, and a really weird sense of humor. That's funny, foxtail! We are talking about Diane, right? Actually, she does have a really weird sense of humor, so you might not be far off the mark on what happened!
I don't understand how you could have gone behind the town of Brenda and headed east, though. It seems all the roads from the end of Perry Lane go either west, northwest or north. Maybe you share Diane's marginal sense of direction? Don't matter too much out there, as you had said, there is more material out there than anyone could ever need. Driving down the road, I just look out the window until I see a spot full of shiny rocks! Since we were leading the pack, it was easy to just pull over and park. I get GPS coordinates on all the good locations...

I might have the compass points mixed up, but we went one direction and came out from the other side. Not possible, but it happened. Diane is magical.

Nope, not magical, just crazy and directionally challenged (especially when there are Seahawk fans around ). I don't remember traveling east to go west in Brenda but heck I get so turned around out there anything is possible I suppose. Foxtail is right though that we went in one way and came out another but I suspect we did a big loop because someone (not naming names foxtail) wanted to check out a chrysocolla prospect that turned out to be a bust. Russ, thanks for adding the picks but to clear it up, I did not do a body block on Jim nor did your foot find the piece, just happened to be there when I found it You all are just jealous that I was the one who found it

Diane, I keep telling you I am not a Seahawks fan, I'm just anti-Broncos. They knocked my Chargers out of the playoffs (well, no, they actually took themselves out, lol!), so why would I want to see them win?
Besides, someone told me the Seahawks have never been to the Superbowl. Can that be true?
Anyway, should be a good game, but I'm watching it for the commercials. Carne asada with fresh avos, roasted jalapenos, chips and guacamole (more avos), chile relleno casserole, and a couple margaritas to wash it all down.
Bring it on, I'm ready!!!!

I know Jean, but isn't anti-Broncos = Seahawks fan? Seahawks have been to the SuperBowl but never won as far as I know. I'm eating my guacamole before the game since the avocados you gave me got ripe faster than anticipated. Thanks again, they are soooooo tasty. I'm probably going to be looking at my gem silica while I munch on sausage cooked in beer and homemade baked beans...yummy and watch the Broncos kick some Seahawk butt.

Only for the Superbowl, lol! If the Seahawks have been but never won, they are in the same club as the Chargers. Went to the dance once, but didn't dance.
The avos I'll be using for guac on Sunday were picked the same time as yours - before we left for Q. They are juuuussst right. You are going to watch the commercials, right? I don't even know (or care) who is doing the halftime show.

I got cheated twice, TWICE. Diane stole my rock and I did not get even ONE (1) abocabo. I think I will commit harie carney, or something like that.
Jean did come through for me though and got two cold rolled shafts for my saw and sent them to me. Now I am stoked because I can get my saw going again. WOOHOO Jim
