I managed to finish three more cabs on Monday while the temps were in the 50's before the "big" snow fall :>) One more cab of the dendritic agate: Norena, the areas that look like fractures are part of the pattern: Robyn's Poppy Jasper, this is my first cab of this material. It took a nice polish, but the color & pattern are blah: Thanks for looking. Rich

Nice cabs Rich. Darn Noreena is tough comparison. It's fine. It was the coldest in 28 years at -2F this morning.

Good work! I really like Noreena but finding patterns condensed enough for smaller cabs is difficult. Looks like you did the job.

Ditto on the noreena. And, your pictures look good, too.

Thanks all, I had one small slab of Norena out of which I managed to get three nice cabs. Sometimes the small, less expensive slabs yield the best cabbing material.
rockjunquie, thanks for the feedback on the photos too, the photography coming along thanks to all of the help I am receiveing on the forum.

That noreena has a sweet pattern but the dendritic agate is really a great looking cab too. Nice cabbing on all.

Love those cabs and your photo skill are getting really good. You can get rid of the blue tint in the 1st and next to last pictures by adjusting the color temp. If you have a basic photo editing software like Picassa just view the picture while in the program and look for an area that you know to be white than while in the program adjust the color temp until the white area is in fact white. This will help correct th effect caused by different lighting sources. If you adjust to far to the left you will get a blue tint. You can download Picassa for free on line. Stu

Another thing that will help the blue cast with your white backgrounds is to adjust your white balance on your camera for the light you are using. Or, you can buy a digital grey card real cheap and set your white balance manually for each type of shot. I set mine with a grey card and saved it on my camera, so everytime I use the same light and background (which is always with my light tent) I can dial in the right white balance.
