My neighbor who is a heavy equipment mechanic brought me this piece he found on a jobsite last year. I had forgotten all about it until I saw a post about Flint Ridge material, so thought I would put it in the saw and cut a couple of slabs to see what patterns might be revealed. It had a couple of interesting swirls going on and a couple of Drusy pockets for added interest Pics of slabs to come soon (if photobucket cooperates)

Every danged forum I visit has different photo posting requirements. This is worse than remembering passwords not getting any younger either, so it ain't gonna get easier as time goes by

Don't I know it! I grew up around computers - for an old geezer and had a good handle on them until XP came out and I pulled out of the fight. Now the "chillins" have to help Great Grandpa from time to time.
BTW I'm glad you are aboard. I like your work and appreciate your comments!

I'm not a pot stirrer and try to keep it positive most of the time. Wouldn't be any fun on a forum without some friendly pokes once in a while though:-) My Son was on a computer from around 4 years of age, so he is a whiz on 'em! He now designs and programs huge commercial ammonia refrigeration systems on the West coast, so our investment in computers for him paid off.

Looks like your state rock.... mozarkite? Phil and Chuck: It does have some of the patterns normally seen in Mozarkite, but none of the Pink we usually see in the material from the Lincoln area. The pink tinge I can see in the photo isn't really pink on the actual rock. We do have some very pretty pink Chert in the Reeds Spring formation not far from where i live, but this was found way down in the S.E part of the State near Sikeston where a huge limestone formation was being blasted for construction. I've never heard of and Mozarkite being found in that area, but it's not out of the realm of possibility I suppose. I cut several slabs last night and found some really neat drusy areas inside. I'll try to get some pics later this evening. I have no light box and I can't get the crystals to sparkle in the pics no matter what I try. It's snowing, so no sun for natural light shots
