Laura is a supply teacher at one of our typically underfunded schools that doesn’t have enough budget to buy hands on equipment for the kids. That has prompted me to ensure that her school at least has rocks when geology time comes up. This is one of my latest creations/donations. The kids cover the rock cycle and the relationship between Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic rocks as early as Grade 4. I assembled a basic kit of 5 of each, laminated some ID labels, and threw them into a hobby case from Michaels. Why … Simply because no child should have to settle for a picture of a rock in a book.
