For sure. Both look like classic california poppy jasper patterns. I'll lay money that Mel will come by and know the exact street address of each...

Thank You, Good Earth! At first, I wondered if the second one was pottery. ahem. Yep, I agree that Sabre52 will know their street addies. He probably found these two.

First one is classic Hornitos Poppy Jasper from Hunters Valley. That's the good old stuff from the pit my digging buddy calls the Holy Grail Pit that was pretty much totally mined out back in the 60's. My buddy's dog rediscovered the pit and we worked it a bit a few years ago but very little of that color still left and only in the tailings. Second looks to be Morgan Hill material.....Mel

That Morgan Hill would cut a very pretty Easter cab. The Hornito has a sweeeet color, love the way it looks.

I agree with Kurt, the morgan hill would make a nice egg.

Thank you, Mel, for id'ing the poppies for me. Your buddy had a smart rock hounding dog. Thanks, Kurt and Lee! Will have to see if I can make an egg or cab with the Morgan Hill piece.
