Found this large chunk at an estate sale of sorts - it belonged to the father of a friend of a family member and I owe her a pendant made out of it because she didn't really want to part with it. I originally posted pictures of it in this thread but it's been sitting in my garden since then until I whacked it once with a sledge hammer last weekend and it completely fell apart. It's fragile as hell and completely riddled with fractures - completely unsuitable for lapidary. I managed to cut some slabettes and stabilized them in opticon and they still fall to pieces when I try to form a cab. I'm hoping to eventually make some sort of specimen out of the poppy just to preserve it as an example of the variant.

Make it a doublet and she can still have her pendant.

Ah man, the old poppy jasper curse. Many varieties are problematic but that Morgan Hill takes the cake for gulldanged fractures. Pretty sad that one of the prettiest poppies is so bad most of us drop the slabs on the ground after slabbing ( if they even hold together in the slab saw) and then try to work with the most solid pieces. Like parfive has said, I've even seen folks make triplets out of Morgan Hill. Back of a plain solid jasper and a quartz cap. Too much work for me but, if it's a special piece, maybe worth it......Mel

Tried "Hot T" green ? It is a thick super glue that fills in cracks nicely, and is super strong. We've rescued many cracked slabs that way.
