This is for jamesp and his love for cottonmouth's!! Well, well, sounds about like one of my BS stories. Except it's me needing the Jack because a moccasin scared the @!#$ out of me. I have learned to invite others on my trips to scare them away and spread out the chance of an encounter. No worries Keith, never seen a moccasin on the Withlacoochee. John, you have expressed an interest in going there too. It surprises me that I don't see a bunch at that river. Just tiny gators. That is a nasty snake. Ocala Nat. Forest is covered up with them. Never seen one on my farm, knock on wood. It by far is the critter that worries me the most in wetlands down south.

So, no walking around in your neighborhood barefoot? OK, not coming over there. If not on business, I don't like wearing shoes.

Yeah, we got all sorts of bugs, lizards and snakes. But they are all much more afraid of us than I'm of them. Just saw a 6 foot Chinese cobra today, but only because one of my dogs disturbed it, and it took off. Here in the village and in most undergrowth of our valley, I see no reason to wear shoes. Why pay for a massage when you can have it for free.

I try to be barefoot as much as possible. It's funny. I have never liked shoes and here in my old age, I have a disease that prevents me from wearing shoes. Yesterday, I had to go out, so I wore some surf socks - neoprene socks. They passed for shoes.
The joke got shared quite a few times this morning. Great to get smiles all around so early.

LOL!!!! I don't wear those. I wear the little ankle high ones. I have some like sneakers, too, but I haven't worn them in a long time. Believe it or not, I had compliments about those at Myrtle Beach. They look like something from the 80's. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for pictures- that's just too weird. LOL!
