It turns out that almost all of these are nonphotogenic- including the covellite that I won't even show you- pictures are awful. Polish flint with a sealed fracture that showed after I started grinding. Amazonite from tntmom. Beeeeeeautiful color! Aqua Amazonite from radio- what this one lacks in color, it makes up for in the full schiller across the face. Of course, you can't see it in the picture. Much, much nicer in person. Large teepee canyon. Love it! Super cool Pacific Coast Picasso. I should have done a post with this by itself. Very interesting stuff. Awesome patterns and really easy to cut. OJ Kabamby OJ OJ - looks much better in person with some druzy sparkle. The lines in the orange aren't cracks and show up much better in the picture. This is one of those cases where I cold kick myself. I got done turned it over and realized that the other side was sooooo much better! DOH! Thanks for looking I'll be at it again tomorrow, I think... I hope.

The California picasso is really interesting. I think I've seen cobbles of that on the beach by the Ventura River mouth when hunting whalebone but never gave a thought to it being something to pick up and polish. Very cool find!. Shows how one should not concentrate too much on just one target when collecting.
Another great example of this was one time I was at Ron's Rocks and he showed me some fantastic poppy jasper he'd collected on a rocky beach south of Santa Barbara. Again, I'd hunted that same area for whalebone and never even thought of poppy jasper..Mel

Very nice.. The Teepee cab is my favorite.
Im a fan of the Picasso material. I've been able to collect some locally. I'll have to post some pics of it when i cut the latest batch hopefully this weekend. I like it as well. A buddy and i were calling it Coastal Picasso because we get it in the hills near the beach but Pacific Coast Picasso works for me too.

Pictures are fine, you sell yourself short. They all look fantastic, favorites are the Amazonite.

Tela, the cabs are great! But the images seem a little overexposed on my monitor. Am I seeing what others are seeing or do I need a monitor adjustment?

The seller was calling it PCP, I'm pretty sure anyway. I love this stuff. I didn't really want to cut the slab which is rare for me. I made a post about it. I'll try to find it for you. I don't like the name. I don't think it looks or cuts like picasso. found it- here's the post- forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/66053/before-socal-coastAs to cutting it- it smelt like cat piss. Yup, cat piss. But, maybe my cat was bad, LOL!

The flint is very interesting ... Has me curious about how our banded flint may look cabbed I'm not sure about all flint but the Polish flint is renown for the crazy patterns. I haven't cabbed the best of it, yet. I tend to save the best for last.... like dessert.
