face polish that first one, or just enjoy it- its beautiful as is.... how big is it and does it have a name? the second is pretty like that, too. Is it sandstone or chert, jasper? sometimes with photos it is hard to tell... (and again, how big?) If that's a standard 8x11 piece of paper its on, then I can guess 4x2x3?

First appears to be Carnelian.. and I would quarter it or even sphere it.. The last is as Snow says.. but that one should be cabbed.. If you've yet to attempt cabbing, why not see if someone here would do it for you on an exchange bases.

The 2nd pic is rhyolite. I can and have maid cabs before but my co-worker owns the machinery to work them.
The carnelian is about 4 inch across and 3 inches deep roughly the same with the rhyolite. I may tumble it some day as i know the crystals should not be damaged much.
I don't do cabs often unless i have someone wanting to buy jewerly usually.... you can see an example of one above my carnelian... the pink and white ice cream opal

I'd vote with snowmom on the carnelian, polish the broken face you show. I've done some of similar size and shape, look really nice, at least to me and the people who bought them.
