I love the Alaskan rocks. I bet that's a goldmine of a place for rockhounding. Thanks!

Its a goldmine for rocks if you have a $10,000 atv, truck/suv, trailer, and are willing to travel 1 full day (1 way) to get to a spot and spend a week camping out which i don't have... but i konow people that do that... most of my stuff i get from rivers or i find while at work (surveying) Those are all the agates i found last year.. so far this year i have found almost 5x as much.

I'd say you and the rivers are doing just fine. Amazing how resourceful we all become when we are motivated to hunt rocks on a budget. We learn all the little ditch washes and hillsides and watch for construction sites or places where there are piles of stones... looking forward to seeing your posts. Surveying sounds like a good job for getting you into places where rocks might be waiting!
