I have long been intrigued by iris agate. I have yet to find one, or at least I haven't cut an appropriate piece thin enough. Anyway, I found this article Iris Agate quite interesting. Anyone have any nice iris pictures they want to post here?

I finally cut into an Iris agate slab...My 1st one in 27 years of collecting!!!! Have it wrapped up in my shop,I'll see if I can get any good photos of it... It's not a Montana though,I think it's an Oregon agate...

very cool never heard of iris agate
so if it need to be sliced thin to get the effect & to thin to make a cab can it be backed with glass to thicken it then cabbed to get the effect? if you know thanks Ed
