Well the big round green rock is not jade. Went to The Rock Shed in Keystone South Dakota to meet Shawn and se the shop and Matt says it's a green rock that won't polish. Of we'll it was a almost thang! LOL
So I did meet Shawn in addition to Matt. I ordered Caleb, a 10 year old boy that my neighbors are raising a double barrel Lorton tumbler and plenty of grit and a bunch of colorful rock for him to tumble. Shawn gave me a great price and threw in some wild colored dyed rocks too for Caleb to tumble. Caleb is being raised by his grandparents and loves rocks!!! He has a hard time in school but is getting tutoring help. His a great kid and comes over to look thru my rocks all the time!!! I give him tumbles and he takes them home and gets them out to play with all the time. His grandparents know that The Rock Shed is sending him a big package and they are going to put it away until Christmas. Shawn also put in a jewelry making kit including fittings and glue.
I was hoping yall would send him some tumbling stuff. His grandpa is going to help him with it and Shawn they in a tumbling guide. If yall want to send rocks to Caleb's grandpa Linn then pm me for the mailing address. Linn will put them away until CHRISTMAS for Caleb.
While at The Rock Shed I went rockhounding. I found a piece of rose quartz in the parking area. I showed it to Matt and he told me to go look across the street in the dirt parking area because they unload the big trucks over there and drop rocks everywhere! They leave the small tumble size pieces. I picked up at least 1.5 of the 3 pound Lorton drums to mail to Caleb!!!
Well gotta go, we are currently in the Pryor Mountains of Wyoming/Montana searching for wold mustangs, finding a lot to photograph too!
Next stop will be Tony/ Catmandew to go hounding with him!!!
God bye for now. Susan, Sadie Mae and Bill

Whoop hooo we are at Tony/Catmandew place!!!! We arrived about 10 am at Tony house. Rocks all over the yard but they are just real rovks lookin at them rocare st Tonys place in the country about three miles from his house. The place is great!!! It's got rock piles everywhere and huge boxes of rocks, like pickup truck bed boxes! Huge 36 inch saws, trailers full of used saws and lapidary equipment! Brain overload!!! So we quickly unit he'd the camper, jumped in my truck and went rockhounding. We went to a place out in the boonies called City of The Rocks! We were after a agate that Tony jokingly calls Idaho Lace agate. There is every color and pattern out there! We walked about a quarter mile to a hill top and the ground was covered in agates. As Tony says like they were chicken feed thrown out. Some were like bacon slices and others had orange or yelow and even greenish blue in the base white color agate. We hit one area about the size of a pickup that had a beautifull really and orange solid color with no white! Oh Yea we were getting out of the truck and Tony dug a couple of baseball size ones right out of the road! Then Susan saw one in the road, her first, that looked about the size of a golf ball but when Tony prized it out it was bigger than a softball and almost no holes or foamy stuff and it was all orange and red swirls going thru it!!!! Definitely the hit of the trip. We got a three gallon bucket full eacharge of tumbles and slabbing material. Some are one cab wonders or great slabbers. Tony got a frame pack pack half full. He carried mine out for me and I walked out filling my pockets full! LOL Then Tony told us we got to have all those he picked up too! What a dsy!!# He is having a rock club BBQ here Saturday so we are camping at his rock pile till then.
The camping is free but I will probably have to buy some this stuff. There are 50 cent a pound and dollar piles that are unclassifed. One pile has brunet and Morrison it in it. The pike would not fit on a tractor trailer!
If you can get here sometime you should cause you can't buy gas to go hounding for what Tony sells this stuff. Plus it's still got the effect of searching and grand discovery!
Breakfast time, Tony is deer hunting this morning and then we are going to move lots of rocks to make room for the BBQ#!!

What horrible typing! Go ahead James and hit me! Anyway this is great! Tony thank you and Chris, loving wife, so much for your hospitality! I told Tony I wanted a Rainbow obsidian chunk for the guy that used his backhoe and helped us get the Nethers Farm flint. I wanted a hunk that in one piece filled a medium flat rate box. Got one!!! It's square and completely fills the box top to bottom. Ed Moreland is his name and he is a pro at percussion knapping. Will he ever be suppressed when this shows up in the mail! -I told him I would send him some obsidian but you know he never thought he would get a perfect square piece. He can slab it and make super spear points and hatchet things! Thanks Tony for finding a perfect piece od rouggh.
