Just got done spending an enjoyable 1/2 hr looking at some incredible mining stuff. Good or bad, these guys/gals sure do things big!!!! If you have facebook then check out the "Mining Mayhem" group (just type that in the top search blank area). For you all without facebook* here are some couple captured pics from there. You gotta appreciate the engineering of some of this equipment! You can add your own captions. mining Mt. Doom: the problem with digging holes. Boss ain't gonna be happy. I started looking on this Mayhem group because a friend sent this: www.facebook.com/video.php?v=477784809029707&set=vb.172500846224773&type=2&theaterIf you want to see the very definition of "stupid" watch it. * = I am no big fan of facebook, but seems the best way to get news from my kids, LOL

I should really stop complaining about having to occasionally scrape my windows in the winter.

They still use this heavy equipment for removing coal for a few remaining powerplants in alberta. Fished a few old dugout pitts from years back they let refill with water and stocked eventually after shutting down for good. Even a few of the old rotating buckets were left behind to rust away. The size of these mega machines are just mind blowing. Great pics and yes those trucks frozen is a shitty reminder of whats to come shortly.

The coolest snow sculpture ever made!! Just need a snowman to drive it! I'm all for equality in the workplace, Nothing wrong with sending a snowwoman out to go start that. Buddy system is the only way. Pretty as it might look. To get caught in a white out can be a become a nightmare quickly. Tracks and land objects can disappear rather fast and leave you disoriented. A real compass or handheld gps is always a good thing to carry when heading out into the bush or onto a frozen lake, phones not always work.
