I was pretty frustrated with myself not being able to weave those darn wires so I asked a "Higher Authority" Cathy (Talkingstones) how to do it!Knowing that Cathy does some excellent wire wraps I figured she could straighten me out with this! She did in a hurry and I felt like a TOTAL fool when I found out what I was doing wrong!
James just mentioned "tunnel vision" in a post and I had it BIG TIME! I was trying to weave 2 sets of 4 wires and it just wasn't working out well at all! Cathy picked up on it right away and told me it was just a simple 3 strand braid,,,,like braiding a womans hair! Wha,,,,what,,,,3 strands and not only 2??? Cathy linked me to a video and it all suddenly looked sooooooooooooo simple,,,,,,kinda like the guy whop was trying to do it with only 2 sets of wires! LOL
I stripped a bunch of electrical wires, annealed all of them, straightened them all out and braided the heck out of them! They're not the best or the prettiest but they ARE braided and laying flat!
Well,,,,,that's phase 1 done on a copper cuff bracelet,,,,phew! LOL It took me 7 hours to get it done but 3 of those hours were spent sitting in a corner with a dunce hat on! LOL
Thanks sooooooooooooo much for your help with this and getting me out of my tunnel Cathy!
I have a crazy idea of how to get all of the "embellishments" silver soldered to the bracelet "blank" without any solder leaching and I hope I can try that today.I may not get to it till Monday but in either case I'll let you all know what I tried and if it did or did not work! connrock

Connrock, To get the embellishments to not show extra solder, you need to sweat solder them. Look that up. Lynn

Lynn,,, Thanks! Sweat soldering works great if the piece(s) are solid but if they are "chain like" the solder runs all over the chain! LOL I'm slowly finding that a combination of sweat soldering, using both copper solder and silver solder and an anti solder,,,like White Out,etc is the answer,,,or in my mind it is! LOL Thanks again,,,, connrock

Just like juggling three balls. Outside into the middle, left, right, left, lather rinse repeat. Now once you can do the main hair braid well, study other hair braids Fishtail They even have tutorials! Yes, I know this because of a daughter. No, I never could braid her hair.

Shotgunner,,, I have 2 daughters but never braided their hair either! LOL When I first tried braiding the wire I was having a brain malfunction which seems to occur more and more as I get older! For what ever reason,,, I was trying to braid with only 2 sets of groups of 3 wires.I KNEW there was something wrong but my brain wanted to keep a secret! LOL When I asked Cathy(talkingstones) she led me to a video and as soon as the video started my brain let loose again and told me I was an idiot cuz I needed 3 sets of wires,,,NOT 2! LOL If this keeps up,,,pretty soon I'll have to watch videos on how to scoop up soup in a bowl with a spoon and bring it to my mouth again! LOL The Golden Years,,,,Yeah right!!! LOL connrock
