Well I finished the Anorthite cab.. not at nice of material as I thought before but still looks decent.
I also re-wired my nelson so i have to find an extension chord to make sure it turns on.. all that is left is to clean the inside.

Thought that I posted them, here are some pics.. one that shows just the cab and one that shows the anorthite reflective stuff.. I will keep on trying to get batter pictures. It is hard to get the effect with the camera flash.

Nice set, I especially like the second black & gold cab, the red & white is dandy too.

Thanks, The black and gold I only have 2 rocks like that that I have found including that one... the outside is black and the inside is more gold / white. The red jasper is the average cab worthy jasper I pick up. Maybe I'm too picky for what I consider cab worthy as my riverbends are usually full of colors . I still don't have a whole lot of amazing materials like the golden jasper but I do have some interesting stuff.

Finished these and I used my tumbling polish for final polish after 3k grit wheel. I used the polishing pad accessory that came with the machine... The pad works nice, but the setup of it for the wheel is crappy... Can't exactly see the pad when working and it gets dry too fast (the water would wash the polish off If I used the water feeder. once the pad was dry it wanted to and sometimes did fling the rock to the back (breaking the tip of my red jasper). Its a pain but over time I'll get used to it. Anyway time for the pics!

Your cabs are lookin' good, glennz01! Really like the red jasper pendant. Have to watch those cabs, especially when they try to jump out of your hands and fly across the room.

Yeah, I didn't use the polishing pad for those two... The polish was high enough on them. They are probably sold to the person that bought my red pendant.. I don't get to enjoy my work for a day and people want to buy my creations... not that it is a bad thing.
I will be making a few cabs to a few people on this site as well when I find the right material... Need to do more cutting to find the right material first... but as you might be able to tell my skill is growing with each cab and the Alaskan green cab is my 7th one made thus far.

Keep 'em comin', glennz01! Very nice work! Looks like you've got some psilomelane cabs? What are the cabs? I guess lables might help (i'll add lables after this reply) 1st is blue tiger eye from brazil. My co-worker gave me a 5 or so pound piece because he thought the rock was junk after he took a small slice off it (I like it though) 2nd is a local river rock i found around 100 miles away. (also entered in kcc as I thought it would be the only one made for this month... even though I know I won't get any votes ) 3rd is a local river rock... whe white colored quarts appears white in good light and purple in darker light. This was only a trial piece off the rock it came on, i'll probably toss the rest of the rock in a box for someone since it is small and I actually took the time to cab a part of it. 4th is a test piece off of a part of pyrite and red jasper boulder I found last year. I was seeing if the pyrite would hold up and It did better than I thought. I will make a lot more of these some time. Being metal this was probably the fastest cab I have made so far. Easy to shape but it stains everything black/grey.

I made a new one and started a lot more today. Malachite The bubbly part in the pic below I left natural and did not polish (it is also a concave thing) The solid blue one is an opal (never worked opal before... kinda easy to grind) Before you ask, yes I am going to repair the crack you see in the jasper.
