I just retired and have been working on organizing stuff in my house. About 12 years ago, my wife was interested in working with silver. I found an unopened box from Rio Grande with tools and supplies. I also found a box from The Bell Group (Rio Grande) with about 50 square inches of silver. Four pieces with numbers written on them. My wife has COPD so she won't be able to use the material. I took a crafts class in HS 50 years ago and jewelry making was a part. I learned enough that I don't expect to take up the hobby.
Assuming it's ok with my wife, I would like to trade this material for simple setting of some cabs. For right now, I'm just trying to gauge interest in my proposition.

That is a lot of silver!
I can help with what you need
We'd probably have to talk a bit more about what simple settings means to you To me it means a bezel setting with a backing plate and a bail. How elaborate and original can be discussed.
I am not a professional seller; there are lots of members who do this for a living

My silver bench is not active right now, so I can't help. But, it would be good to know the gauge or overall weight. 5x10 piece of 26g is very different from 5x10 piece of 26g (~$100) vs 18g (~$227)

But, it would be good to know the gauge or overall weight. 5x10 piece of 26g is very different from 5x10 piece of 26g (~$100) vs 18g (~$227) Here's what I have: 1 thin piece about 5x1 marked 22 1 thicker piece about 6x1 marked 118 1 thicker piece about 6x2 marked 120 1 thicker piece about 6x2 marked 122. My rough guess was too high. In the same box, I found 2 silver bales from Rio Grande. Instructions on working with the material from a class handout, but no receipt. The setting would be bezel setting with a backing plate and a bail. This is all very tentative. I haven't picked out any cabs.

I'm just getting started in silversmithing. I'm of little help here but, if you have any of her tools that you'd like to find a new home for... I'd be interested.
