This has been a long known site. Some real stunner diamonds have been found there.

It is indeed a well known place, but not everyone walks away with diamonds when they go. There are also quartz and agate mines out that way.

I think i need to go on a road trip. Even if i dont find anything, fun is in the search right? Thx for confirming the site. Are the diamonds naturally occuring for that location or was material from somewhere else moved there and just happens to have diamonds in it. Strange that they can be found on the surface like that

It's an actual diamond pipe. The stones are natural for the area. In addition to diamonds, you should find some nice jasper.

I have been there a couple of times. .. It is a old volcanic tube that has natural diamonds .. Something like 30 acres of hunting area.. They also have markers for where the big ones were found Take kids with you as they are low to the ground and seem to find them more often. .

Pretty cool. We have a few Kimberlite pipes close by. Never have found anything worth keeping other then very low grade and small diamonds-craptastic on the surface. Not many know the govt has located and documented the localities if your interested in diamond hunting. Creeks give you the best indicators they are around or your close to a pipe.

Not only that, but the gov't has a list of all the mines whether it be gold, diamond, to lead... In a database that any normal person can access. I looked some stuff up for my area and was amazed at how many mines there are. I couldn't locate them on a map, but there's another office for that. Do some googlin and you'll eventually find it

Not to hard to figure out if you look at the maps to offlimit zones.

Not to hard to figure out if you look at the maps to offlimit zones. It's all data. Even the closed mines are listed in case the gov't ever wants to take it all back and do something with the land. From what I've seen you have to write a letter and request the locations of these places. There's also a group that's trying to turn back the land into its original look from mines and quarries that went bust and didn't fill things back in. Wish I knew more people in my state that I could roll with to find places.
