Is that garnet or a ruby or what? It's pretty if for a woman's ring.

Its a lab created ruby 8x10mm 14k setting on Sterling ring... 14 gauge sterling sheet used to make the ring, soldered then hammered.... finding ordered from rio grande, stone from local gem show... soldered finding to ring, tumbled in steel shot, ground finding to set stone then set stone...

That's a gorgeous ring, and cannot believe it's your first, alan. Very nice work and really like the hammered band.

I still need to invest in some cup burs for the prongs... I had to impress my wife to justify tool purchases... Fortunately for me I bought most of my equipment before we were married!

That's a gorgeous ring, and cannot believe it's your first, alan. Very nice work and really like the hammered band. It was my first completed ring... I did mess up on my first attempt... I used 18 gauge metal for the ring and ended up breaking a prong on the finding... Fortunately it wasn't too much of a loss...

Beautiful! I love the lab rubies and have made many earrings and pendants using them. That's a beautiful job you did, too!

Nice! I wish my wife stopped myself from buying. Now thinking about selling everything to move. Maybe take pics weigh and price list in forum. Have A Great Holiday Season, Cliff
