When Cathy sent me a drawing of her design for the turtle (with the cab) I told here it was a very ambitious project for someone who had never even held a torch in her hand. She almost agreed with me but was very persistent in doing this piece. She's no quitter, kept her nose to the grindstone and I'm VERY impressed on what she accomplished in a relatively short time! This is a piece made by a woman who was petrified to even be near her empty oxygen and acetylene tanks not long ago! No knowledge of how an oxy/acet outfit works,,,,no knowledge of what regulators are or do,,,,no knowledge of copper solder and silver solder,,,or even what flux is!
It's been a long hard road and WELL worth the effort! Ya done me proud gal! Congratulations Cathy! connrock

Awe, Thanks Tom!!!!! Definitely a fun piece to do!!! Difficult but fun!!!! The challenge for me is going to see if I can get this one in silver done now. We will see, but tonight I'm taking it easy! James, it's great to see you... well write to you again. Going to take me a bit to get my bearings around here again but I should be posting now and again!

Being a newbie myself, I have to say- that second one is really WOW!!!!! From a technical standpoint, that was a lot of work and you pulled it off beautifully!!!! I love the piece. I like the first one, too, but the second is just so impressive. You go, Girl!

Thanks Pat and Tela and it is so great to hear from you!!! As both of you know, I can tell you everything that's wrong with it, but for a first try on it, I'm very pleased!!! Still working the construction on it with a silver piece but the overall design of it is there!!! I really learned so much from doing this, but I think what I really got from it was that if you can think something in your head... or maybe it's just feeling it, you can make it! It may take a while, but if you stick to it, it will happen. Conrock is so great to work with on the smithing and has really been very patient with me...even thought I am sure I make him nuts at times... okay, a lot of times... well like 99% of the time... but he doesn't give up on me and I appreciate it so much!!!! Definitely the soul of patience!!!! Anyway, I'm hitting the bottom of the energy tank for tonight so going to call it a night! You guys have a great night!!!
