I may have shown these as cabs without the holes but here they are with holes and cords. Hematite and jasper. Had to try to do a save on the hole here because I do not have a good vice to hold them while I am drilling and this one slipped a little. I think this is copper something with hematite. I got it in Quartzsite last year. Local stone (jasper) with a tiny bit of hematite or metal of some kind. This was in the box that I won from Tony for guessing the trip miles for the hounding trip in Q. Very odd shaped but I did not want to loose any part of this stone. I think this is my favorite cab ever. Took a bit of HXTAL to hold it together. Epidot and quartz (I think, just a guess) Local stone. I think I just posted this in one of my other threads but I will add it here to have them all together. Ice cream opal from Idaho (from Tony of course) with braided carpenters string line. I really like this once it is braided. Hope ya enjoyed the show. Jim

Cool pieces Jim. I just spied a hunk of hematite/jasper in one of my buckets the other day. Gonna go dig it out and maybe cut into it. Thanks for the inspiration!

Braided string line for a cord?? Dude, that's genious! This is pretty much what I want to do with some of my stones. Create simple pendants that either a man or a woman might be comfortable wearing without the fuss of wire wrapping. Well done, sir. I really like those copper based stones.

I like those a lot! I don't wear jewelry, and I would wear something like those.

Well done! I find it safer to drill the hole in the slab, and then cut the cab.

Well done! I find it safer to drill the hole in the slab, and then cut the cab. That is a good rule to live by but I have a problem there. I do not have a clue what I am doing until it is almost finished. Then I have to figure out if I am going to wrap it, groove it, drill it or put it in a finished cab container and totally forget I have it. You may have noticed that a lot of my cabs are anything but normal. Some even have a flat side and a beveled side which a lot of people wouldn't even call a cab. I have other excuses too like, the drill under water set up is not set up and I want to grind (now). lol Jim
