Hello from as southern as you can get California (Imperial Valley). We have a new (sort of) fascination with all things rocks. Living in the desert helps since there is pretty much nothing here but rocks. We've discovered that there is a massive amount of knowledge here and some great teachers, so we are looking forward to learning new things.

Welcome, definitely in the right place. lots of brains to pick here or sit back and watch the fun. Don't be surprised the next time we are visiting the kids in Imperial when you get a PM ! I don't know what was worse, a flat lander wondering the desert alone or the focus I rented to putz around in that week as it dragged bottom to the next relatives place. You'll have some fun here no doubt .

Northend, specifically Westmorland. We're about 10-15 minutes from the south end of the Salton Sea (Obsidian Butte, Red Hill, etc.) Niland is scary, but we've been out that way quite a bit (usually driving though or to visit Salvation Mountain).
