Jean, you are a true master. How you figured all that out is beyond me. rockpickerforever=@master I am not sure that I can do what you said. I am a simple man. But proud non-the-less. I have been quoted on numerous occasions to make corrections in my English. Like calling a meteor a meteorite after it hits the ground. That was the first time. Other times was related to chauvinistic comments on my behalf LOL. Your mastery of the 'quote' is starting to make sense. again LOL.

I sometimes think I do not have the patience to be a teacher. There are many times when I can do something, but for the life of me, cannot explain how I did it, lol.

If quoting two or more in one reply I have to open another forum page to copy from. Have not figured out how to put multiple quotes in one reply captbob other than [ quote ] manual method for more than one quote. Certainly a lack of knowledge on my behalf. Any trick that allows such ? How many would you like to quote?
This forum seems to not have the ability to do quote multiple posts from the same thread. Oh, but it does... There is a way. Pay attention, and I will attempt to elucidate.
First, select the post you wish to have quoted LAST on the page. In this case, jamesp 's post "seems that way." Click on the Quote button, it brings up the create post window, with the quoted post already in place.
Second, start typing something below it. Make sure the curser is UNDERNEATH and not IN the quote. Can be just "blah, blah, anything" (you can type what you really want to say later), but you need to add something beneath it to "set" the quote there.
Third, hit the back button in your browser. You will get a message saying "We found a recent draft that you were working on. Would you like to restore it?" Click the YES button.
Fourth, find another post you want to quote, click the Quote button again. The new quote will appear just above the one you previously quoted, ie., second to last (or top of page if you are through quoting). Also be sure to type something below it to set it. Again, make sure of where your curser is, you want it to be between the two quotes. If you need to add a line, click on BBCode, and add a line or two before you start typing. (To find the correct place to insert a line, the quote starts like this - starts with [quote source=" etc, ends with I can't paste the exact line, or it will add the quote again, lol! Put your curser after the last [/quote], then hit enter a time or two. Then click back to Preview, you should see where the space was added. Try practicing it first with XXX or something else to set the quote, so you are not spending time writing a reply, and then lose it by accident. You can edit it when you have all your quotes in place.
Don't know how many you can quote, but I've done three here, may be no limit. I'm no computer guru, just figured this out by trial and error. Try it, will try to walk you through if any problems.
[/quote][/p]
I do not get a message, it just starts a new quote. I am using IE 11. Wonder if different browsers work different?.................................MrP

MrP, are you on a desktop or tablet? Mac or PC? I am also using IE 11 (actually 11.0.9.9600.17633 ), on a PC desktop, Windows 8 WINDOWS 7, Professional version (64 bit). Does that make bit of difference? I don't know.
I use the back button in the browser. Will try it with another browser. I'll try Mozilla Firefox next, will let you know what happens on my end.
ETA - @shotgunner, IE11.
Edit - Oops, using Windows 7 on my HP Pavilion desktop. Never want to go to 8!

but ya gotta have the original username @drummond Island Rocks wont work he originally signed in with iloverocksalot so you'd need @-iloverocksalot w/out the hyphen does the url tag fix this issue? @chineseninjahero NO it did not. Still need original sign in name. helensFound it easier to point the mouse at or over a username and it will show the original username. For example, if you use your mouse and point at username Drummond Island Rocks, it will display his original name, iloverocksalot, and you have to use it in a post. Drummond Island Rocks You can also find out a members id number when you point at a username. It will display in the bottom left-hand side of the page. gingerkid gingerkid thanks. Didn't know that! What do you mean by ID number? Didn't know we were numbered! rockpickerforever @shotgunner, jamesp What does ETA mean besides estimated time of arrival ?

HP Pavilion Notebook PC, Windows 7 Home, IE 11....................MrP MrP, I think the notebook is the problem (with the back button). When using my tablet (desktop version of RTH, hate the mobile version), there are two ways to go back. One is the back button on the tablet, the other is in the forum software. Will have to go check and see which one I use. Oh, yeah, and also try Firefox. What do you mean by ID number? Didn't know we were numbered! me - 3777, Scott -3782, Pat - 4173, James - 4778 In the order we joined. Pat, that one had me stymied for awhile, too. captbob likes to use it a lot, I finally figured it out!
