manofglass has been a RTH forum member for eons, and although he does not actively participate on the forum much, he is very active behind the scenes sending many of us his much appreciated advice, equipment, and generosity. I'm very fortunate to have him as my friend. I was saddened and very sorry to hear the news from Walt last night that his mother passed away on Wednesday morning. Walt, if you read this, please know that we are praying for you and your family. Godspeed. Jan

Walt gets 'ere Done! Walt's tumbler has the steel rods inserted into tight drilled hardwood for bearings! Walt's home made Drop Saw. The Geode Kid used v shaped 2X4 screwed to plywood centered on the blade as a "quick change" vise for thundereggs. Place the stone in the v, the blade wedged in in place. Remove the cut egg and drop the next one in place. Easy Peasy as @shotgunner says.

OK, I see your home mades and I can tell you are my hero. Love the hybrid wood/metal devices of rock manipulation. I always thought that the ugliest equipment makes the prettiest rocks. prayers and condolences Walt. PS Hardwood bearings-ocean liners and submarines use wood from the lignin vitae tree:
