all nice work. Disappointing about the pits but I see the pattern, very interesting. Sometimes it is a matter of learning what works, right? your green river jasper looks silky smooth, do you find much of that? Seems to be a lot of variations on the Priday... watching with interest.

snowmom, green is moderately scarce in the river, but I usually fiend 1-2 pieces on each outing. In order of abundance: tan-->red-->green-->blueish. All can have interesting patterns, or no pattern at all. What I find most interesting is that there can be any permutation in color combination. The tan and green above is a good example of a bi-color. I have also found tri-color examples, but have yet to come across a 4-color example. This suggests to me that they are coming from a similar formation up in the volcanic basalts that form the river drainage. I just cut a blue-green that is on deck for some large beads, stay tuned. Funny thing is that I have plenty of tan and red, but I always cut the green first because it is my favorite. I bought 20 lbs of Priday from Richardson's Ranch and slabbed it all. Amazing variety, and I haven't yet touched the best slabs which are a nice blue with strings of white dots
