Had my tumbler Lortone 45C quit on me after I ordered a new belt-there was no reason for it to do that...It ran fine, till I shut it off for a few days..(The motor, just hummed) So instead of ordering a new motor,I decided to tear apart and field strip the whole machine!!! Took everything apart and checked it over and cleaned it all, even the lock pins-LOL.. Got it back together and plugged it in-BINGO!!! It works like a charm-all noises are gone too..........Loaded it up and its a working fine!!!

fossilmanNice Job. I always find that it's better to at least try to fix things before taking/sending them in for repair. later Brent

I admire anyone who knows what they're doing when it comes to pulling apart contraptions and putting them back together. I don't even know what you mean by "field strip", unless you mean you're "in the field" as opposed to back at the shop. CONGRATULATIONS and well done! Must be darn gratifying!

Field stripping was taught to me,while I was a mechanic in the Army, many years ago....You lay a cloth out or a clean bench-than strip every piece off your equipment, set it in line as you take it apart.. When putting it back together, you reverse the procedure and start putting it back together...Pretty simple really.......Thumbs up
