All out destruction footage I've seen on the tube and internet, hope it stops soon enough. Texas in topography is very similar to Alberta except for the mountains. We had that 2 years ago when the southern part of the province was flooded, cities also. The friggen water just comes down so hard and fast the ground cant soak it up quick enough, seems to be the norm these days "scratches his head", instead of a week or two of just light showers. Were having the opposite problem. Right now were in a level 4 province wide state of emergency when it comes to how vulnerable we are for fires. Our fire teams are at max and were ready to call in for reinforcements from other provinces to keep a handle on the fires burning. Last count I think is seventy fires and 50 started in the last 2 days due to dry lightning strikes. Supposed to get some cooler weather in the next week and "maybe" some moisture.

Hang on to yore hats boyos. Another bad ole storm is just west of us in Junction right now and building fast. Looks like it will hit around midnight and be a real rock and roller. Thunderheads to 56,000 feet, hail, dangerous lightning and apparently it's sucking in still more stuff from the SW over Mexico. Looks like canceled horse rides again this weekend. Snuffy, get out yore waterwings....Mel

I sure will be glad when those countries we helped during their flooding show up and get things done down there.
Hello, HELLO. Okay, well, they must have gotten held up but I am sure they will be here tomorrow, Jim

Well, heck Jim, our own government helps other countries while ignoring or dragging out forever help for our own folks.
Got another 2-3 inches here last night. Worse lightning and thunder we've ever had. So many ground strikes it felt like the limestone walls were gonna get shaken off the house. Ole Ma Nature is having her a good ole time this year.
Snuffy, you guys make it through OK out your way?....Mel

Just so hard to wrap my brain around that much water falling from the sky, especially in such a short time. Just got an email notice from the water authority about cutting water use by 20% - MANDATORY. What we have heeeere, is a major distribution problem...
You guys all be safe down there!

Something to ponder.
35 TRILLION gallons of water is estimated to have fallen in May in Texas. Enough to cover the entire state of Texas with 8 inches of water.May aint over yet either!
