... You also mentioned that your loto was mounted to a table? The instructions state it needs to be attached to at least a 40 pound concrete block. You also mentioned added padding to avoid noise but anything like that will dampen the vibrations required for the loto to work properly. ... well i hate being wrong but it seems i was wrong, decided to try and mount it to the cement floor with some fresh 2 sided tape and the improvement was extremely noticeable. after seeing that im starting to wonder if all our issues were caused by the vibratory action only being about 1/3 of what it should have been from being mounted wrong. ill know in 23 hours lol.

I was figuring that was most of the problem. The solid mount should actually make the unit more quiet too. Most people just mount them to a single solid block down on the ground but I made my setup taller to avoid bending over to tend to it. The blocks are all glued together as one unit. Chuck

FLrockhound -most vibes do not need to be mounted to a concrete block. This method is specific to the loto tumblers. What type do you have? If I remember right the loto instructions recommended a 40 pound block Chuck

I had both the lot o an UV10mb in my cart when I had ordered an forgot that I had removed the UV an wound up ordering the lot o 4lb.

When in doubt, don't add more water. Lol trust me. I've seen it on here and in person, we've all squirted way too much at times. Even if it's moving slowly let it do it's thing until it looks like they're just vibrating and not doing anything and then add a squirt or two. Also you can tell if you're using too much is if you see water (gray kind) jumping past the rocks and possibly out of the Lot-O.
Most answers were tl;dr, but I'm positive you'll find all your answers in here and if you spend a few minutes reading other tumbling posts.

No no, I meant they were tl;dr for me so I kept my answer as brief as I could without reading every single response.
When I come here asking questions I read every single word someone writes as well. Hope you've solved your problems with the Lot-O. From what I read and have encountered myself, its all trial and error.

Ha ha ha, if you mixed your Sonora with your agates ha ha ha. It pitted the crap out of it I'm sure. I had a piece I threw in with some jasper cabs and pitted the crud out of it. Sonora I think is like a 3 or 4 on MOHs while agate is a 7.
Just run your like rocks together with the same hardness' and you'll be golden.

Will you adopt me? That's a great looking setup, Chuck!!!! Sorry to bring up this older thread but I was looking for "recipes" and ran up on this post of yours regarding the mounting of your Lot-O (which I'm also interested int).

necro!! lol well since you were interested in mouting ill tell you that its still working fine mounted to the floor, although i had to replace the tape after a few weeks and line the entire bottom of the lotto board with 2 sided tape but after that its been solid for months... granted that might have ahd something to do with it being a double barrel also look into posts from chuck from about 3-8 weeks before this thread was started, he had posted his recipe which ive been using and its worked wonders for me on harder stones... still figuring out how to get better then a matte finish on softer stones though
