This place intrigues me. I have seen pics of it but the area is probably not as easy as it appears.

Haven't been there yet, but I have found Mr. Hausel is quite "unusual" to say the least, and has a very high opinion of himself. I have followed some of his geological "leads" and none have paid off. Just my 2cents.

Are you familiar with the area? If so, does this area really exist?

Are you familiar with the area? If so, does this area really exist? I have not been there. I think the mine probably existed, but I am quite sure that nice pile of jasper is long gone. Might be some small pieces around though and someday I will get over that way to check. Let me know if you do get out there. That jasper was some great looking stuff.

I'm trying to talk John herchenx into going to look for those jasper tailings with me! I think he said he has looked around the area. With any luck we will make a trip around Wyoming parts this summer... ~Roland

Yeah like Roland rockroller said I was up there the fall before I got hurt, but my (deer) hunting buddy didn't want to stop and look for rocks panamark is right, I've bought many dollars worth of Mr. Hausel's books due to the promise of being able to find what he describes, and haven't had any pay off (with even a single rock due to any of his instruction) - I know he has found what he says he's found, but he speaks in such vagueries that his experience and knowledge seem to get lost in the writing. I have found rocks like what he describes (I found a major deposit of fire opal on that same trip, in a very different location, but nothing I read of his helped me find it) As far as Tin Cup goes, yes I want to get back up there and hike all over the mountain, but there was a lot of offroad vehicle traffic up there so I doubt it is as easy to find as he makes it seem.

So, in other words, this guy is peddling a gold mine with little gold and his treasure map has poorly placed X's, huh?
