Here is some more things to look at. Trim saws- grab the shaft at the pulley and check for play up and down also spin and listen for rude sounds. Both are signs of bad/worn bearings. This is real common on used saws especially the bearing closest to the blade. Rock Rascal saws have a shaft/bearing assy. that costs about $30. Most other brands' bearings can cost a lot more. Also, check how much blade is left. Look at the motor and check play up and down at the shaft and noises when turning also. Figure your cost to restore to usable condition when making an offer. And then there's cab mahines- most of the same things apply with the addition of wheel condition. A friend recently got a deal on a used Genie for $300. He cut two cabs and the motor burned up. It turned out to be a 1981 model that had been stored for years. List price $409 plus shipping. The air pump needs rebuilding and oh yeah a couple of the wheels are worn out. Even buying at a discount he'll likely end up with $1000 in the unit. It should be worth about $800 when he's done. If you are mechanically inclined there are some great deals out there just really check it out to avoid surprises. Of course there are those right place/right time occasions when you find near new equipment being sold cheap.
