Earlier I posted about learning to weld to make things for cutting rocks like a vise for my trim saw. I finally made one although ugly but it worked. I still have a long way to go with the welding, but one thing leads to another. Ok the impulse buy. I know it's small 14" metal lathe but big enough for what I'll probably be doing. I know zip, nada,nothing about using this so wish me luck.

I don't know much about metal lathes either but that IS a hobbyist tool par excellence!

Mr.Mohs I thought someone was referring Phil to you to make some shafts not long ago. Well i set it up on a bench today and turned it on ran the chuck forward and reverse, and the feed screw back and forth so now I guess I can say I know how to do that much.
