Did those go for a ride in the rotary tumblers first? They look really cool.

Those sure turned out nice! Cleanouts must have been a bit of work with all the nooks & crannies. You sure nailed the shine. Looks like even the ugly duckling pieces have beauty within. Interesting batch for sure.

Interesting batch for sure. I meant to say something about the clean outs. I am usually a bit of a perfectionist and do not let rocks with issues move from the rotaries so this was a real lesson in thorough cleaning for sure. High pressure water was required at every stage on just about every darn piece. Stiff bristle brush did not do much good at all. I do not think I would of had enough patience to do the clean outs if the batches were any bigger. 2.5 pounds at a time was plenty of work for me. Thanks again for your generosity captbobChuck

What did you use to produce high pressure water?

I have small section of garden hose that I cut the end off of so I can squeeze it closed between thumb and finger. Old school but it creates enough pressure to hurt.

The last two photos remind me of some sweet Georgia corals. What do you think jamesp?

If it works, go for it. I have a section of hose like that too. I'll have to give it a try. I'm assuming this is an outside activity.

The last two photos remind me of some sweet Georgia corals. What do you think jamesp? Yes. Tumbling rocks to remove a skin is a favorite w/me. Usually tumble 3-4 loads in coarse and then separate them by what needs the most or least tumbling to dial the skin in. Grouping them basically by need of skin removal. Coral rounder, the wild protrusions and shapes of snakeskin sets it off. Like alien body parts from a spaceship crash. bet that is some pure hard agate.

Some of them remind me of teeth. They did take a great shine even with the odd shapes and line and pits.

Love the material, and the tumbles are great! I ;ike 'em all, but the ones that show the reddish webbing are my favorites.

The shine they produce is wet-like even just after 5 days in 500grit in the Lot-O.
